Is it bed time yet?

Juliet has the sniffles. She got them 2 days ago, and the poor thing has been really snotty. She's been ok mood wise- until today. She's had a fever on and off all day, and it doesn't help that it's HOT outside, so we've been only getting short trips outside. She passed out at 11 for a nap, but didn't sleep long, and now she's wheezing (we'll visit Doc tomorrow if she keeps that up). Needless to say, she's both a bit stir crazy AND feeling miserable. I am SO ready for bed time!

Fair day

I took Juliet to the Washington County fair today. Linda's family has milk cows that are entered in the fair, so we had a nice "home base" we could come back to for lunch and for a sit down occasionally. She got to get up close and personal with a cow, got to pat goats and pigs and horses. She was SO well behaved in the bird barn. I told her that she could look but not touch because the birds might bite- and she walked the barn with her hands behind her back. The only time she reached to touch something (baby quail) she checked herself without me even saying a word. I bought her a mini fried dough, she licked all the sugar off (and then I got to eat the remainder). She skipped her nap, so of course she is a little whiney tonight, but I think an early bedtime might be in order- for both of us!

Wakey Wakey

I have never really been a morning person. From time to time I've been able to pretend that I am, and get up early to get things done. But in reality I'd rather sleep in, and stay up late. But since having Juliet I have been forced to change my ways. Juliet IS a morning person (seriously how does a night owl birth an early worm???), as is normally awake by 630am. I can get her to stay in bed while I doze until 7am with nursing, but after that she's ready to get up and GO. Thank god it's summer and I've been able to take her outside first thing to run off some energy, while I stare like a zombie into space. But I have to be honest, I really can't mind when we wake up like we did this morning. A huge smile while looking in my eyes, an "oy ew ma-ey" (love you mummy) and a kiss. Thats worth waking up at any time of day.

Little Muscian

She has music in her bones. First it was playing piano with Grandma (which by the way she insists on doing every time we visit), then singing to Princess and the Frog. This weekend I bought her a recorder- an el cheapo $1 out of tune thing- but I've been teaching her how to blow it. We've had a lot of slobber, and instead of blowing on it for the noise, she'd put her mouth over the mouthpiece and squeal "making" the noise. Loud- but cute. Yesterday we were at Amanda's who has a piano. Of course Juliet climbed right up on the seat and played away. What was new is she added singing- so she was singing as she played. Adorable.

Cheese

Getting ready for our day with Amanda and her kids Dave and Alexa, I was packing out bag- spare pants and diapers, spare shirt, watermelon and crackers to share, hand me down clothes, and of course my camera. Juliet was wearing an outfit I bought her a year ago because it was so damn cute, but they didn't have in the right size at the time. Anyway, knowing she would get filthy (it's been raining for 2 days. Outdoors = wet) I decided to get a cute picture to show off the outfit.
Trying vainly to get a picture while she moved around, I finally told her to "stand still crazy child, I want to take your picture" She tilted her head, came and looked at the camera screen at my last failed attempt, sauntered back to the wall, and POSED. Came back to the camera to see the image I had just snapped. I got a handful of pictures from my pretty model. I'll post them later- when I'm not so bone tired!!!!

Cute as a button

Juliet can be SOOO adorable. Her favorite show right now is Princess and the Frog, we've watching it so many times I've lost count. She is no reinacting the movie AS she watches it. As the frogs fall yelling- she yells, she "runs" away from the stuff chasing them, during the songs she sings along... there is one where the frog Tanan puts her hands above her head and sings a long note- Juliet will stick her arms up and sing (if you can call it sing). She even gets quiet during quiet songs, and loud during loud ones....
But cutest of all.... When Tiana is about to kiss the frog the first time, Juliet leans over for a kiss and then backs away quickly and then leans back again for the kiss- just like the show. And then at the wedding at the end she leans over to kiss me several times- again just like the movie.
It's sooooo cute. And I don't mind the kisses either!

Enjoy...

(You can't hear it, but when she's walking with the bunny she's saying "shhh, shhh")
